§ 52. Mr. Goldingasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what closures of hospital beds have taken place in the last week in North Staffordshire hospitals; how many of these were pay beds; and how many pay beds remain.
§ Mr. AlisonThe temporary closure of 193 beds in the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary and the City General Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent, was announced on 10th November. Seven of these were pay beds; 41 pay beds remain in hospitals in the North Staffordshire Hospital Management Committee area.
