HC Deb 01 December 1970 vol 807 c336W
Mr. Skeffington

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in view of the danger to human beings from mercury compounds deposited in the sea, revealed by studies recently made in the United States of America, details of which are in his possession, what work is being done in Great Britain on the problem; and what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

I am aware of United States studies of this matter. My Department in association with other Government Laboratories, is also studying the problem of mercury compounds.
