HC Deb 01 December 1970 vol 807 c313W
34. Mr. Judd

asked the Secretary of State for the Social Services whether he will make a statement on the measures which he is taking to increase the accessibility of advice on benefits available under present and future health and social security legislation.

Sir K. Joseph

The Department will seek to improve public awareness of social benefits through thousands of personal letters to those best placed to advise, direct approach through voluntary organisations and extensive newspaper advertising. In addition, Social Security leaflets, of which 19 million are distributed each year, will be systematically simplified.
