HC Deb 30 April 1970 vol 800 c369W
45. Mr. R. C. Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many men and women registered as unemployed in the Southampton area have been out of work for a continuous period of more than three months; and what percentage this is of total unemployment in the area.

Mr. Dell:

At 13th April, 1970, 1,236 men and 115 women who were registered as wholly unemployed in the Southampton travel-to-work area had been on the registers for more than three months. They formed 35.3 per cent. of the total numbers, including young persons, registered as unemployed in that area. These figures are provisional.
