asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when Professor Reddaway will examine the effects of selective employment tax on the tourist industry.

Mr. William Rodgers:

Professor Reddaway is at present engaged on a study of the effects of the tax on the hotel and catering trades.

86. Mr. Fletcher-Cooke

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when Professor Reddaway will examine the effects of selective employment tax on the earnings of the banking and insurance industries.

Mr. William Rodgers:

I cannot say when it will be possible for Professor Reddaway to begin work on this part of his enquiry.
