Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what road expenditure he has authorised specifically designed to assist the Mosshill Industrial Estate, Ayr; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross:

During the past year I have authorised three improvement schemes, at a total cost of £108,000 of which £87,536 will be met by Government grant, on the A713 principal road between Mosshill and Ayr. Although not designed exclusively to assist the Estate, these schemes will materially facilitate movement to and from it.
