HC Deb 29 April 1970 vol 800 c330W
80. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when and where the Fisherman's Training College, proposed by him for Aberdeen will be set up; and if he will give details of the qualifications of students for entry to it, the courses, fees and examinations proposed and the degrees which will be open to the students there.

Mr. Ross:

I have agreed that the main centre for courses of education and training for Scottish fishermen should be in Aberdeen, but the setting up of the centre is a matter for the Education Authority, who will be submitting proposals for building and for courses to me. Details of the courses, entry qualifications, fees and examinations are therefore not yet available, but it is intended that courses will be available for all fishermen from new entrants to skippers.
