§ Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland which local authorities have submitted educational schemes to his Department within the terms of the provisions of the urban aid programme; and what steps he has taken to urge education authorities to greater action.
§ Mr. Ross:Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Greenock Town Councils and Ayr, Dunbarton and Stirling County Councils have put forward proposals for the provision of some 1,000 new or additional places in nursery schools. All have been approved except the Stirlingshire project, which was only recently received and is under consideration. I expect shortly to invite local 334W authorities to put forward further proposals under the urban programme for the next two years.
