HC Deb 29 April 1970 vol 800 c320W
72. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the President of the Board of Trade why he has appointed inspectors to inquire into affairs connected with the public company, Corton Beach Limited; who are the inspectors; how long they expect to take to complete their investigations; and whether the parent company Mesco Consolidated Limited, is also to be investigated by these inspectors.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody:

The Board of Trade, under Section 165(b) of the Companies Act, 1948, has appointed Mr. M. Heald, Q.C., and Mr. R. H. Morcom, chartered accountant, to investigate the affairs of Corton Beach (Holdings) Ltd. It is too early to estimate how long the inquiry will take. The inspectors are not inquiring into the affairs of any other company.
