HC Deb 29 April 1970 vol 800 c320W
71. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the President of the Board of Trade what action he has taken or intends taking in view of the attempts being made to prevent the firm of Leyland Limited from having fair trading relationships with Arab States and to ensure that all British firms are allowed to trade fairly and freely with all countries which Her Majesty's Government recognise and with whom full diplomatic relations exist.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody:

We are in touch with British Leyland Motor Corporation on this matter. Her Majesty's Government are opposed to any measures which prejudice the freedom of British firms to engage in lawful foreign trade.
