asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proportion of the total cost of agricultural support as set out in the recent Price Review will be paid to farmers in Scotland.

Mr. Ross:

Of the total estimated cost of Exchequer support to agriculture for 1970–71 as shown in Command Paper No. 4321, Appendix V, Table A, the proportion applicable to Scotland is approximately 17 per cent. This does not take account, however, of the latest determinations set out in the White Paper.
