§ Mr. Mulley:Almost 26 miles of new and improved major road schemes in Yorkshire and Humberside were approved during the financial year 1969 –70. The estimated total cost is £34 million, of which the Exchequer will bear £32 million and local authority £2 million.
There are no schemes approved before this that have not started.
§ Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Transport how many miles of major road improvement schemes, started in 1969, will result in no additional lane for increasing traffic; and what was the total cost of such schemes.
