§ 42. Mr. Montgomeryasked the Minister of Transport whether he will publish a White Paper setting out the implications for the transport industry of Great Britain's application to sign the Treaty of Rome.
§ Mr. MulleyNo. Paragraph 51 of Command 4289 (Britain and the European Communities —An Economic Assessment) states that the formulation of a common transport policy in the Communities has proceeded slowly and is far from complete. The limited, and sometimes experimental, measures adopted leave so much for future decision that no present assessment could be more than speculative. My Depart266W ment has for a number of years circulated available information on the development of the common transport policy to public and private sectors of the transport industry and to other bodies which have shown interest in the matter.
