§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many applications have been made by the Carlisle City Council for a share of the £15 million which has been set aside for the replacement of old and grossly sub-standard premises; and for which schools they have applied.
§ Miss Bacon:The Carlisle local education authority put forward three projects, at an estimated cost of about £201,000, for an allocation from the £15 million available for improvements and replacements in the 1971–72 starts programme. The schools were:
- 1.St. Cuthbert's R.C. Voluntary Aided Junior Mixed and Infant School.
- 2.Bishop Goodwin C.E. Voluntary Aided Infant School.
- 3.Upperby County Junior School.
