§ Mr. Hordernasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT figures for public expenditure programmes in the years 1959 to 1969, inclusive, classified in the same categories as in Table 1.4 of Command Paper No. 4234, adjusted at 1963 prices.
§ Mr. Diamond:As I explained in reply to the hon. Member for Rutland and Stamford (Mr. Kenneth Lewis) on 26th March, there are technical difficulties involved in converting into constant prices the expenditure on individual programmes for financial years before 1964–65; but progress has been made in overcoming these difficulties.
