§ 77. Mr. Sillarsasked the Minister of Technology if he will take steps to ensure that the corrosive faults found in the Magnox nuclear reactors will not be repeated in advanced gas-cooled nuclear reactors.
§ Mr. Benn:As I told the hon. Member for Dorset, West (Mr. Wingfield Digby) on 1st December, 1969, advanced gas-cooled reactors should not be affected by this corrosion. Nevertheless, the designs of all stations under construction are being checked by the C.E.G.B. to confirm that there are no components at risk from this problem.—[Vol. 792, c.188–91]
