HC Deb 23 April 1970 vol 800 cc143-4W
Mr. Willey

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will ask the Criminal Law Revision Standing Committee to give priority to the examination of the murder and manslaughter of policemen in its review of offences against the person and to make an interim report.

Mr. Elystan Morgan:

My right hon. Friend appreciates and shares my right hon. Friend's concern about these classes of homicide, but does not think that they can usefully be studied out of the context of the general review of homicide which the Criminal Law Revision Committee has been invited to undertake. I understand that the committee is already in communication with the police and other organisations and persons closely connected with the enforcement of law and the administration of justice.
