Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will list all wage or salary increases agreed between employers and employees and affecting more than 50,000 workers which came into effect, or are due to come into effect, between January, 1969, and May 1970, showing the industry or public body and trade union, the amount of the increase per week, the percentage increase and its effective date.

The following list gives most of the information for which my hon. Friend asks. As there is a wide range of monetary amounts involved in most pay settlements, and many of them involve a number of trade unions, comprehensive lists of these would be unduly lengthy for the OFFICIAL REPORT. The percentage figures given are not comparable because in some industries national increases can be added to
