§ 6. Mr. Wallasked the Minister of Overseas Development if she will make a further statement on aid to Malta.
§ Mrs. Hart:The House will wish to know that on 13th April the Malta Government were informed that, after the most careful reconsideration, the British Government could not go beyond their offer to provide the balance of £23 million still available under the 1964 Financial Agreement equally by way of grant and loan over the period 1969–74. The Malta Government have not so far accepted this offer, and the British High Commissioner in Malta is continuing his discussions with them.
