HC Deb 22 April 1970 vol 800 c122W
Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied with the slum clearance programme for old-type council houses in Wales; how many have been demolished over the period 1965 to 1969; and how many are scheduled for demolition in the current year.

Mr. George Thomas:

714 houses in local authority ownership have been demolished over the period 1965–69. The majority of council houses are less than 50 years' old and the question of slum clearance does not normally arise. The information sought by the last part of the question is not available.
