Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what increases in all service industries during the year June, 1969, to June, 1970, will be required to fulfil his prediction of a 60,000 increase in employment in the sector contained in paragraph 26 of Command Paper No. 2864; and how this compares with the outturn in each of the previous five years;

(2) what net increase in employment in all production industries, manufacturing industries, gas, electricity and water, respectively, will be required between June, 1969, and June, 1970, to fulfil the predictions contained in Table A on page 8 of Command Paper No. 2864; and how this will compare with the outturn in each of these categories in each of the previous five years.
