HC Deb 22 April 1970 vol 800 cc107-8W
Sir J. Gilmour

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is satisfied that an adequate bus service is being provided in Scotland; how many routes have recently been curtailed or discontinued; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross:

Responsibility for providing bus services rests with the individual operators, subject to the Traffic Commissioners' control. Details of services withdrawn are published annually in the Commissioners' Report to the Minister of Transport; those for the year ending 31st March, 1970, are not yet available but will be sent to the hon. Member as soon as possible. Particulars of services curtailed are not available.
