HC Deb 20 April 1970 vol 800 cc51-2W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what, in money terms, was the value to Scottish industry in each of the five years 1964 to 1969 of the 50 per cent. derating of industrial subjects in Scotland.

Mr. Ross:

If industrial subjects had not been derated in the years 1964–65 to 1968–69 it is estimated that the additional rates payments in respect of them would have been as follows:

£
1964–65 9,816,000
1965–66 10,713,000
1966–67 12,177,000
1967–68 12,929,000
1968–69 14,144,000
