HC Deb 20 April 1970 vol 800 c7W
57. Mr. Ashton

asked the Minister of Technology what conclusions have been drawn from the investigation, by the Warren Spring Laboratory of his Department, as to the best method of getting rid of the smell from the 23,000 tons of chicken manure produced annually at Hempsalls factory, Walesby, Nottinghamshire; and what advice he proposes to give the firm and surrounding residents.

Dr. Ernest A. Davies:

On the advice of the Department, this investigation is being made for the firm by Loughborough Consultants Ltd. and not the Warren Spring Laboratory. I understand that the work is still in progress and that the consultants cannot yet advise on how best to deal with the problem.
