HC Deb 15 April 1970 vol 799 c246W
Mr. Stodart

asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) why he has decided to increase the quota of imported butter;

(2) why he has permitted the import of 20,000 additional tons of butter, in view of his policy of maintaining home production of dairy produce.

Mr. Mason

As I told the House on 23rd March, the import quota level is that required to meet demand after taking full account of domestic production.—[Vol. 798, c. 294.]
