HC Deb 14 April 1970 vol 799 cc211-2W
5. Mr. Pavitt

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will refuse to authorise any scheme for the redevelopment of the Willesden Green area by a private development company which seeks to create a large shopping centre rather than to provide houses.

Mr. Greenwood

The question of planning permission for redevelopment at Willesden Green would be for the Brent London Borough Council in the first instance. Such a proposal could come to me on appeal or if referred under the Town and Country Planning (Development Plans) (Greater London) Direction 1966 and would, of course, need to be considered on its merits.
