HC Deb 14 April 1970 vol 799 c206W
Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total of the capital debt which has been written off or transferred to public dividend capital between October, 1964, and the most recent date for which figures are available; and if he will express this total as a weekly average for the relevant period.

Mr. William Rodgers

The total of the capital debt including revenue deficit written off or transferred to public dividend capital between October, 1964, and 31st March, 1970, is £2,832 million. The weekly average is £9.9 million; this, however, is not a meaningful figure.
