Sir R. Russell

asked the Prime Minister how many Ministers have visited Commonwealth countries during the Summer Recess; and if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of Ministers, the countries they have visited, and briefly the purpose of each visit.

The Prime Minister

Thirteen Ministers made a total of sixteen official visits to Commonwealth countries during the Summer Recess. The following are the details:

Dates Country Minister Purpose of Visit
25–26 September Barbados … Chancellor of the Exchequer Commonwealth Finance Ministers' Meeting.
2–7 October … British Honduras Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Lord Shepherd). Discussions prior to Constitutional Conference.
8–15 October … Singapore … Secretary of State for Education and Science. To see Service schools.
10–16 October … Trinidad … Minister without Portfolio To attend Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference.
