asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what proportion of registered unemployed persons in England and Wales, respectively, have been unemployed for over eight weeks.

Of the total numbers registered as wholly unemployed—except casual workers—at 13th October, 1969, in England, 52.3 per cent. had been on the registers for more than eight weeks. The corresponding figure for Wales was 58.1 per cent.
