HC Deb 26 November 1969 vol 792 c84W
44. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the President of the Board of Trade how much traffic has increased at Turnhouse Airport, Edinburgh, over the last 10 years, in terms of the number of flights and passengers carried; and to what extent facilities at the airport have been increased in the same period.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

The number of air transport movements has increased from 5,620 in 1959 to 11,946 in 1968 and the number of terminal passengers has risen from 149,000 to 616,000. Extensions to the facilities during the same period included the provision of some 12,000 square feet of additional accommodation for passengers; an increase in car parking capacity from 100 to 400 cars, and an extension of the apron by 6,500 square feet.
