asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he proposes to set a limit to night flights from Luton Airport; and if he will make a statement.

No. I am advised that it would not be safe to rely on existing powers to impose such a limit even if one were otherwise justified. I understand, however, that the airport owner intends to restrict the growth in night jet movements next summer.
