HC Deb 26 November 1969 vol 792 c93W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the President of the Board of Trade what further financial assistance he proposes to give to trade missions.

Mr. Mason

I have decided to improve the terms for inward and outward trade missions. In future the British National Export Council will meet up to 75 per cent. of the economy or tourist class air fares for approved missions of foreign business men visiting the United Kingdom from all parts of the world except Western Europe. As regards outward missions, the existing 75 per cent. rate for air fares to certain countries in Asia and Australasia will continue to apply until the end of 1970. I am also introducing the same terms from 1st January, 1970, for missions to California in connection with the trade drive which is being sponsored there jointly by the Board of Trade and the British National Export Council.
