HC Deb 26 November 1969 vol 792 c88W
62. Mr. Gordon Campbell

asked the President of the Board of Trade why the closure of Inverness airport for two weeks for work on runways was announced at short notice, causing a reduction in the scheduled flights from the alternative airport at Lossiemouth.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

Notice was admittedly short but the work was becoming rather urgent and we wished to take advantage of the unexpected availability of Lossiemouth during the second half of November. A longer notice would probably have resulted in Lossiemouth being able to accept few or none of the flights prevented from using Dalcross.
