Mr. Hugh Jenkinsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs why he has discontinued his efforts to mount a British initiative for peace in Vietnam: and whether, as Joint Chairman of the International Control Commission, he will now intervene with a view to bringing the present negotiations to a peaceful conclusion.
§ Mr. M. StewartHer Majesty's Government's readiness to make a constructive contribution to peace in Vietnam and my willingness to play my full part as one of the co-Chairmen of the Geneva Conference are well-known and have in no way abated. We will take any opportunity that occurs for useful action.
