Sir G. de Freitasasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government when he expects to receive a report from the Water Resources Board on the nature, extent and costs of a feasibility study on the proposals to build a Wash Barrage designed to alleviate the shortage of water in the East Midlands and East Anglia and make less necessary the use of agricultural land for reservoirs.
§ Mr. Denis HowellAs my hon. Friend the Minister of State explained in reply to a Question by the right hon. and learned Member for Huntingdonshire (Sir D. Renton) on 21st October. I expect to receive and publish the report next summer. The desk study will appraise the case for a full feasibility study and set out in detail the content and estimated cost of such a study.
