HC Deb 04 November 1969 vol 790 cc96-7W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she will publish in HANSARD a full and detailed list of the various boards and committees which the Government have set up since 1964 to deal with wages, prices and incomes, the salaries paid to the members and the total costs of these boards and committees to the latest convenient stated date: and what were the salaries and costs on the date of setting up these various boards and committees compared with October, 1969.

Mr. Harold Walker

I answered the first part of my hon. Friend's Question on 22nd October [Vol. 788, c.245.] The salaries of N.P.B.I. members have not been increased since the Board was set up. Expenditure on salaries, fees, travelling and incidental expenses was £865,900 in the financial year 1968–69 compared with £208,200 in 1965–66. Other expenditure was, broadly, £325,000 in 1968–69 and £78,000 in 1965–66. The general level of expenditure has not increased significantly during the current financial year.
