§ Mr. LoughlinAs I indicated in my answer to the hon. Member on 12th June, it has not yet been possible to establish the cause of the sudden increase in deer casualties in the first three months of this year. There was also a sharp increase in deaths from natural causes over this period. I am continuing to investigate this matter with the object of identifying measures to reduce the mortality rate.
