HC Deb 24 June 1969 vol 785 cc242-3W
64. Mr. Eadie

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works how many representations he has received from building firms about shortage of bricks; if he is satisfied with the present supply position; and if he will make a further statement.

Mr. Loughlin

None in England and Wales. The Scottish National Federation of Building Trades Employers have told me that some of their Members in the central belt cannot obtain all the supplies they need from their normal suppliers. While I could wish that supply and demand in Scotland were in better balance, I believe that the present shortage will not be prolonged and that any deficit can be made good from Northern England.
