HC Deb 24 June 1969 vol 785 cc224-5W
34. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will make a statement about the proposal for a national agency to speed up the reclamation of derelict sites in view of the recommendation of the Hunt Committee.

Mr. K. Robinson

I do not think it would be useful or appropriate to set up a national agency to take over the functions of local authorities in this respect but, as local authorities know, the technical assistance of the Opencast Executive of the National Coal Board has been available to them in appropriate cases since 1967 and I hope they will make increasing use of them.
