§ Q1. Mr. Pardoeasked the Prime Minister if he will transfer responsibility for the crafts from the Board of Trade to the Department of Education and Science.
§ The Prime MinisterThis matter was examined in 1966 at the time when a grant was introduced for the Crafts Council248W of Great Britain and grants were revived for the Crafts Centre of Great Britain and for the Scottish Craft Centre. It was felt then that responsibility should stay with the Board of Trade, and, while such matters are kept under continuous review, I see no case for a transfer at present.
