asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government to what extent the policy announced on 18th January, 1968, that there would be a cut of 16,500 houses in each of the two years 1968–69 and 1969–70 below the target previously aimed at, is being ful filled.

The Government announced in January, 1968, that they would reduce planned approvals of new houses in 1968 and 1969 by 15,000 in England and Wales and 1,500 in Scotland. Approvals are being contained within the revised limits, though without damage to priority housing needs.
