Mr. Whitaker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will include a neighbourhood legal centre in the pilot community development projects.

Mr. Callaghan

This is a possibility which ought to be considered; but the nature of the social development work to be undertaken in each area must depend, initially, on a local assessment of needs, opportunities and resources.

Mr. Whitaker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will consider including a rural area in the next list of community development project areas.

Mr. Callaghan

Yes. It is an aim of the project to reflect a wide variety of types of area of high social need.
