HC Deb 24 July 1969 vol 787 c431W
68. Mr. Channon

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will take steps to improve the system of musical education.

Miss Bacon

For most children, music is part of their general education which is a matter for local education authorities and the schools. The curriculum is under continual review by the Schools Council and other bodies. Provision for pupils of exceptional musical ability and for students specialising in music after leaving school has also been the subject of reports and suggestions which I am considering.
