HC Deb 24 July 1969 vol 787 c458W
Q15. Mr. Biffen

asked the Prime Minister if he will seek an early meeting with the heads of European Free Trade Area countries to discuss with them the current application to sign the Treaty of Rome; and what recent discussions have taken piace between Her Majesty's Government and the European Commission on the political evolution of the European Economic Community.

The Prime Minister

As I told the hon. Member on 12th June, we are in regular contact with our European Free Trade Area partners. There will be a Ministerial meeting of E.F.T.A. in November.

The answer to the second part of the Question is "None". But we maintain close touch with the European Commission on questions of common interest.—[Vol. 784, c. 300–1.]
