Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why he made the Teaching Council Scotland Act, 1965 (Amendment of the Constitution of the Council) Order, 1969; and if he will make a statement.

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply of 6th March to my hon. Friend the Member for Glasgow, Maryhill (Mr. Hannan).

The purpose of the Order is to extend the period of office of the present Council by six months.—[Vol. 779, c. 173.]
