Mr. Bob BrownA circular was sent to local authorities at the beginning of December asking them to keep street lighting on until sunrise.
The replies claim that most authorities had made suitable arrangements for the 226W dark mornings. Some authorities, particularly smaller ones, referred to extra costs and four asked for a special lighting grant.
Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Minister of Transport what has been the result of his study of road accidents in relation to the introduction of British Standard Time; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. Bob BrownAt present only one month's accident figures are available for the period affected by British Standard Time. It is too soon to attempt to draw conclusions about its effects.
