asked the Minister of Transport if he will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of all caterers and the numbers of restaurants and cafes with their locations on land leased from his Department on motorways in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Bessell

asked the Minister of Transport whether regular inspections of catering facilities provided by lessees of his Department on motorways in the United Kingdom are carried out by his officers; and what provision is made to ensure that the terms of the leases in respect of cleanliness are enforced.

Yes; spot checks are also made. If breaches of lease conditions come to light, the Department ensures that operators take immediate steps to rectify them.
