asked the Secretary of State for Defence what pathological evidence he has as to the cause of Corporal Bowler's death after he had suffered from the effect of C.S. gas.

I presume my hon. Friend is referring to the late Corporal Bowtell of the Australian Army. I understand from the Australian authorities that medical examination showed the corporal's death to have been due to asphyxiation and not to any exposure to C.S.
