asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the average rent per acre paid by smallholders in Scotland.

Mr. Ross

The only information readily available relates to my smallholding estates. Excluding the holdings in the crofting counties, which are mainly crofts, the average rent per acre is £4 18s.
