§ Miss BaconThere is no separate grade of qualified nursery school teacher, but in January, 1969, there were about 950 qualified teachers in maintained nursery schools and an estimated 1,275 employed in nursery classes in maintained primary schools. About 450 students a year enter college of education courses which include specific preparation for teaching in nursery schools and classes.
